I love Wallaroo hats!
Please watch video to help you shape your hat.This particular hat is very light weight and slightly flexible.Mine came as bad as some of the complaints. and photos…BUT keep in mind this is a flexible hat.I have 6 different shapes and colors of Wallaroo hats. I got my first one over 12 yrs ago. It’s still in great condition even after several hand washes, it’s white.This is light on the head. Airy so not hot. Sun protection and stylish. Very easy to pack in a suitcase.

Well made, though descriptions can be confusing
I hesitated on this hat because I was unclear about the materials and specific care instructions. Paper is a component, but the hat feels like a combination of straw and fabric which makes it good quality. The interior drawstring makes it easy to get a custom fit. This is a great feature. You can only spot clean this hat which is probably the biggest drawback because the interior is cotton fabric and obviously you sweat in the sun. Sized well even for a petite woman. Comfortable to wear. Brim provides good protection of face and ears. A good hat for your collection, but not for the beach or days when you’ll be exerting yourself and sweating.

Packable
Excellent fit as fabric has give, allowing for a snug fit. I have several similar styles but different brand hats. The Hensel is a good hat but more firm and not as packable. The Joywant is very stiff as well. Neither fit as well. Wallaroo is well worth the premium. It did loose it’s shape once when I let something sit on it but it was reshapable with a spray of water. Packs in suitcase easily.

Not what I wanted
While the hat looks like a straw hat, the material and texture is a knit. It felt wrong. The inside is fully lined with a cotton layer, and combined with the material, I can’t imagine this is a breezy hat for hot summer days. Other than that, I liked the internal draw string, the brim size and overall style. It seems more packable than the description leads on.

Stays on but also leaves an indentation on the forehead
This is a great hat. Looks good and sun protection is high. Options to tighten the hat work well, but I do see an indentation on my forehead. No problem if I leave on the hat while out. If that bothers you leave the hat a little more loose. But not in the wind!

Ageless, classy
Nice looking hat. I have a small head and this hat adjusts perfectly. Love the way the brim dips in front, back does not. I got the “suede” choice and it goes with everything, even silver hair. The hat is softer than I thought, but not the packable type hat. The shape is too pretty to squash in packing. One of the best quality hats I’ve seen around.

Shipped flat in a bag which was disappointing, A bit crushed but wearable.
I like the hat and the color. I bought the Brown.I wasn’t happy that Amazon shipped it in a Mylar bag instead of a box. It arrived flat and although it looks okay when worn, it would have been perfect had it not been crushed. I didn’t see anything in the description about it being foldable or crushable but maybe they are meant to be??It’s easy to size with the string inside. It’s very well proportioned. I plan to get other colors. Just hope Amazon ships in a box next time!

Like other reviews have said, this hat is a great fit. I have a smaller head and most hats are too big for me. This has a string that lets you adjust how tight it is, it’s awesome! The brim is also wide enough for decent sun coverage but still looks good with my narrow face. I look silly on most wide brim hats but this one is such a great fit. It came packaged well and the quality looks great. I can’t wait to take this with me on vacation and I will use it all summer long for sure!!
